The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, on Monday, expressed regret that since the relaxation of the lockdown, the laid down guidelines to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country have been ignored in worship centres, markets and motor parks.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha stated this during the national briefing in Abuja.
Recall that the Federal Government had already issued guidelines for the mode of operations at places of worship, Markets among others.
Mustapha, who doubles as the Chairman of the PTF urges the state governments to ensure strict compliance with PTF guidelines.
He said, “In the course of our monitoring and surveillance of compliance across the nation, we have observed an escalation of the level of non-compliance with simple measure to keep social distancing, wearing of masks in public places, sanitation and hygiene.
“This is more prevalent in markets, motor parks and some places of worship.”
He stressed that all relaxed measures were still subject to review and advisories issued were for personal and public safety purposes.
He added that the breach of the ban on inter-state travels was also a point of concern.
