Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said 64 new coronavirus cases were reported in eight states across the country on Tuesday.
He said that Kaduna State topped the chart with 23 new infections.
The health agency made this known on its official website on Wednesday morning, stating that the new figure, which is higher than the 52 cases recorded the previous day, raised the total cases in the country to 212,829.
NCDC added that there were eight new fatalities on Tuesday as the death toll in the country remained at 2,914.
Aside from Kaduna with 23 cases recorded on Tuesday, FCT had 13 cases, Plateau eight and Bauchi seven.
Others are Lagos State five, Rivers four, Bayelsa two, Jigawa two, and Kano one.
