A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja will today begin hearing in the extradition proceedings brought against the suspended Assistant Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari by the Federal Government.
The presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo, scheduled the hearing for today to enable the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) file a formal response to Kyari’s notice of preliminary objection.
Kyari is challenging the competence of the extradition application filed by the AGF.
The AGF had applied to the court to grant his office the permission to hand over Kyari to the United States Government over his alleged link with international fraud suspect, Abbas Ramon (aka Hushpuppi).
