An Abuja High Court has issued an interim injunction barring the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and others from selling a property situated at Plot No. 4411, Cadastral Zone A09, Guzape District, Abuja.

Justice Mohammed Zubairu granted the order after an ex-parte motion filed by the applicant’s counsel, Reuben Atabo, SAN.

The motion, marked M/16807/2024, was moved on Monday, with its certified true copy obtained according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday.

Justice Zubairu stated that the order was necessary to ensure justice and uphold the principle of fair hearing.

“The interim order of injunction is to last for a few days pending when all parties are served and appear before this court for the hearing of the motion on notice,” he said.

The judge further restrained the defendants and their agents from interfering with or trespassing on the property.

He added, “Consequently, an order of interim injunction is hereby made restraining the defendants/respondents, whether by themselves or agents, privies, servants, workmen, and any person howsoever called acting on their behalf, from trespassing into and interfering with the claimant’s exclusive possession of the property.”

Justice Zubairu clarified that the injunction would remain in place until the motion on notice is heard.

He also granted the applicant’s additional prayers and directed that all defendants be served.

The case, involving Nextdora Nigeria Limited as the claimant, lists Eric Anyamene Nnamdi, Hajiya Bilikisu Mallam, the FCT Minister, and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) as defendants.

It has been adjourned until December 30 for further hearing.

Nextdora Nigeria Limited had earlier filed a motion on notice on December 16, seeking seven reliefs, including a declaration that it holds the title to the disputed property.
