A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has ordered the remand of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, and his two co-defendants, Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The ruling was issued by Justice Maryanne Anenih on Wednesday, who directed that they remain in EFCC custody until December 10, when she is expected to rule on their bail applications.

Bello, Oricha, and Hudu were arraigned on a 16-count charge brought by the EFCC, alleging criminal breach of trust amounting to ₦110.4 billion.

Upon reading the charges, all three defendants pleaded not guilty. Following this, the judge heard arguments from the defence and prosecution regarding the bail applications.
