The Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday accepted into evidence a set of video recordings featuring former Defence Minister General T.Y. Danjuma (rtd), Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, and Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Ajayi, in the ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu.
Presiding Judge, Justice James Omotosho, formally admitted a flash drive containing the videos, marked as Exhibit PW-P, alongside a certificate of compliance labeled Exhibit PWP-1. The materials were presented by lead defence counsel, Paul Erokoro (SAN), and were not contested by the prosecuting team, led by Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN).
The videos were shown in open court during proceedings, sparking interest due to the prominence of the individuals involved. Although the full content of the recordings was not disclosed in detail, observers believe the footage could lend weight to Kanu’s claims of state misconduct.
Following the video presentation, Erokoro proceeded with the cross-examination of a key prosecution witness, identified in court only as BBB, a DSS operative.
According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the inclusion of the video evidence is part of a broader legal strategy designed to counter the federal government’s charges against Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Kanu, who is facing charges related to terrorism and secession, maintains his innocence. His legal team argues that his arrest and continued detention are unlawful under both Nigerian and international law.
The trial has drawn widespread attention locally and internationally, highlighting broader concerns about civil liberties, state power, and political dissent in Nigeria.
The court has adjourned the matter to continue proceedings at a later date.
