Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, famously known as Speed Darlington, has found himself in legal trouble once again, barely two months after regaining his freedom.
The controversial artist, also referred to as Akpi, was apprehended on the 4th of October, following the circulation of a provocative video in which he allegedly mocked fellow musician Burna Boy’s ties to American rapper Diddy.
Diddy has been entangled in a legal battle with the FBI over allegations of sexual exploitation.
Speed Darlington, known for his unfiltered persona, spent five days in detention before securing bail on the 9th of October.
The singer’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed this recent development in a Facebook post shared on the 27th of November, 2024.
He wrote, “Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a AKPI has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”
The cause of the arrest was however not disclosed.
