After a medal drought for Team Nigeria on Day six or the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Innocent Nnamdi has won Nigeria’s first medal in Powerlifting.
Nnamdi clinched Bronze in the men’s Lightweight category lifting a 2nd round attempt of 190kg to finish 3rd ahead of his compatriot, Thomas Kure who finished 4th lifting 180kg.
This brings Nigeria’s total medals to 9 with three gold, one silver and five bronze medals.
