A former Senator, who represented Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, has sent a stern warning to President Muhammadu Buhari and his men not to attempt to either arrest or embarrass Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Mathew Kukah, over his Christmas message.
Melaye’s message was coming following several attacks launched against Bishop Kukah over his Christmas message in which he condemned the Buhari-led government.
According to Bishop Kukah in his Christmas message, titled, “A Nation in Search of Vindication,” President Buhari has succeeded in sacrificing the dreams of Nigerians on the altar of nepotism by pursuing Northern hegemony.
Following this, a Muslim group, Muslim Rights Congress, lambasted the Bishop, tagging him a first-class blackmailer, who was attempting to bring down the country.
But the former senator, who perceived that the matter might lead to the arrest or embarrassment of the Bishop, warned that such action may lead to crisis.
He said, “Arrest or try to embarrass Bishop Kukah and we will prove to you that Government is not owned by you but the people.
“They want to scare everybody. Kill fear and speak the truth to power.”
