Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Visit Nigeria, Three African Nations

Nigeria is set to welcome Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Minister and a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, as part of his annual Africa tour.

Wang Yi’s visit, scheduled from January 5 to January 11, 2025, will also include stops in Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, and Chad.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning announced the trip on Friday, noting that the visits are at the invitation of the respective countries.

“This will be the 35th consecutive year that the Chinese foreign minister will visit Africa as the first overseas trip of the year,” Mao stated.
