Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Raheem Sterling’s time at the club is effectively over, putting an end to speculation about the winger’s future at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking in a recent press conference, Maresca made it clear that Sterling does not fit into his tactical plans for the team.

“He’s a fantastic guy,” Maresca acknowledged, “but the only thing is every manager has a different idea. He is not the type of winger I like.”

Maresca’s comments highlight the ongoing transformation at Chelsea as the club undergoes a major rebuild under the new manager’s leadership. Despite Sterling’s reputation as one of the Premier League’s most dynamic attackers, his style of play does not align with Maresca’s vision for the team.

Sterling, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City in a high-profile move, has struggled to consistently impact the team amidst injuries and changes in the club’s management. His lack of fit within Maresca’s tactical setup appears to have sealed his fate, signaling a potential departure in the upcoming transfer window.

With no clear path back into the first team, it seems likely that Sterling will be looking for a new club where his talents can be fully utilized.

For Chelsea, the focus remains on building a squad that aligns with Maresca’s philosophy as they aim to challenge for domestic and European honors.
