Chairmanship hopeful in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi, has applauded Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the construction of 31 road networks in the council area, in the last four and half years.
Okeyomi, popularly known as Carry Go, gave the commendation at the weekend, during a gathering of his empowerment group, the Change Agent Foundation International (CAFI), held in Ojokoro.
He similarly commended the Sanwo-Olu administration for what he described as mass job provision for hitherto jobless youths, remarking that in the last one year alone, no fewer than 200 youths in his area had been employed by the administration.
“We are immensely grateful to the governor for changing the face of Ojokoro, and of Lagos State in general. In the last four and half years, the quietly active governor had constructed no fewer than 31 road networks in Ojokoro LCDA, helping to ease traffic and making businesses enjoyable, especially for the rural dwellers.
“Not only that, the governor has opened up various employment opportunities for our youths many who were in want of what to do, and as at the moment, no fewer than 200 youths from our locality had been fixed up in the last one year alone,” he commended.
Okeyomi said his group, the CAFI, had also keyed into the empowerment agenda of the state government, having provided various work tools for over three thousand artisans in Lagos and Ogun communities since the group flagged off in 2012.
He also informed that over 2000 indigent students had been offered tution-free scholarship by the CAFI, apart from helping to restore many out-of-school children to the classrooms.
Okeyomi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) enjoined Nigerians to be patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, noting that some pains are inescapable in the attempt to fix any rot.
‘Already, this administration is working on broken down refineries in the aftermath of fuel subsidy removal, so that once the refineries are fully back, the pump price of petrol will naturally drop.
“Again, many road projects have been awarded across the country, while the federal government has rolled out many palliative measures to cushion the effect of this reform measure; this is the way to go,” he applauded.
