A common norm among celebrity couples when there is ‘trouble in paradise’ is unfollowing each other on social media.
We know that there is no manual to this marriage thing but it seems we are about to have yet another celebrity split?
Only last year the social media was gushing over former Mr Nigeria and Nollywood Actor, Emmanuel Ikubese and his popular makeup artist wife, Anita Adetoye. Their wedding was arguably one of the most beautiful weddings in 2020. It was a perfect blend of a tall glass of hot chocolate wrapped in perfect muscles and thick yummy dark-skinned beauty.
Brows have been raised since the couple unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted their wedding pictures. Could this be a spark of separation between the young couple? Or could it just be the regular clout chasing?
Well, we have lost count on how many cute celebrity couples that have gone their separate ways. The Tinsel soap opera lovers who became a couple, in reality, Chris and Damilola, got us loving love till their split. Chris had even remarried. The good looking couple sadly only lasted for two years.
After rumours of their divorce all over the internet, Gbenro Adjibade confirmed it by slamming ex-wife on Instagram for leaving their child in the hands of strangers to go party with friends. In turn, movie star and former beauty queen Osas yanked off her estranged husband’s surname from her Instagram page, replacing it instead with Officialosas.
Pop singer Tiwa Savage and her ex-husband Tunji Balogun, also known as Teebillz split four years after their destination wedding in Dubai in 2014. In 2020, Teebillz shaded Tiwa over parenting while flaunting his new partner.
Recently, Maureen Esisi, ex-wife of actor Blossom Chukwujekwu, in a question and answer segment on her Instagram page gave a savage reply to a fan who asked her if she was going to take her husband back. Her reply was “I was married?”
It’s funny how these two after doing a close-up advert, #GiveLoveAChance in 2019, where they encouraged people to shoot their shots, got separated later. The circle goes on and on.
One thing is common among them. How either one or both parties often spread their dirty linen for the world to see and of course drag, makes one to wonder “if they were not the same people who were in love and had the “God when” gang screaming at the top of their lungs.
Let’s see split couples who still respect the love they had for each other and not drag the other to the muds for a change.
Most importantly, having more long-lasting celebrity marriages would be such a delight.
