Francis Njoku, an Indrive driver embroiled in a theft accusation, is now planning legal action against actress Adunni Ade. The tension arose when the driver allegedly failed to deliver a package belonging to the actress after cutting their trip short.
In an Instagram post shared on the 18th of September, 2024, Adunni publicly criticized the ride-hailing company, accusing the driver of vanishing with her package and ignoring all her calls.
“@indrive.ng I have contacted you for hours but no response. One of your drivers has stolen my package. He ended the trip before getting to me and not picking up calls,” she posted.
Her post sparked widespread criticism, with numerous users criticizing the company.
In a subsequent update, Adunni mentioned that Njoku eventually delivered her package, even after the company had deactivated his profile.
She also shared screenshots of her exchanges with Njoku and her fashion designer, who was responsible for sending out the package.
The screenshots revealed Njoku confronting her, accusing her of damaging his reputation and warning that he might take legal action.
“You have made nonsense of my image and I have contacted my legal team and we will see you in court. You are not the person that requested the ride. Many human rights lawyers and activists have called me and I won’t let it go that way. You must render an unreserved apology and ask Instablog to pull the post down.”
The mother of two reacted to the threat, and said “One thing about me is I don’t lie nor cheat my fellow beings. When we speak of change, let it start with you. In my whole adult life of ordering and delivering or using services of logistic companies, I have never encountered anyone as rude, ill-mannered, arrogant, uncivilized and entitled as Frances Njoku.”
