President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday held a closed door meeting with the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Buhari also met with the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress National Caretaker Committee and Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, as well as the governor of Niger State, Sani Bello.
Although the details of the meeting were yet to be disclosed as at the time of filing this report, it was believed that the governors met with President Buhari over the security situation in Niger State.
On Monday, hundreds of protesters blocked the Abuja-Kaduna expressway in Gauraka town to protest the frequent kidnappings in the area.
The action of the protesters caused a heavy gridlock on the road which extended a few kilometres along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
But the governors refused to speak with State House Correspondents after their meeting with President Buhari.
