Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolences to the government and people of Borno State, as well as other affected states, following the devastating floods caused by persistent rainfall.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, Buhari described the disaster as a “national calamity” and voiced his deep concern over the widespread destruction of homes, farmland, and the tragic loss of life.
The former president emphasized the magnitude of the disaster, stating his hope that the relief measures being implemented by both federal and state governments would bring comfort and support to the affected families.
He expressed his wishes for those who have lost loved ones and livelihoods to recover and resume their normal lives.
“My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this natural disaster,” Buhari said.
As floodwaters continue to wreak havoc across several regions, Buhari’s message echoes the collective grief and solidarity felt across the nation, with various relief efforts underway to support those displaced by the floods.
