Peoples Democratic Party has postponed its primary election in Edo State until June 23, 2020.
The primary election was earlier scheduled for June 19 and 20.
According to the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, “We have postponed our primary in Edo, till June the 23rd.”
Recall that Obaseki had on Wednesday met with the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Governors’ Forum, who is also the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal and the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus.
The meeting, it was learnt, held at the Abuja, Asokoro residence of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom WikeOur correspondent gathered that the meeting was held at the Abuja residence of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike.
The two PDP leaders and other party chieftains, who attended the meeting, were said to have assured Obaseki of their support.
A reliable source at the meeting said it held after a virtual meeting with PDP governors in their various locations.
Issues discussed at the meeting were said to have bordered on the fate of the Edo governor’s deputy, Philip Shuaibu and other APC members defecting to the PDP along with them.
