On or before May 29, 2023, Nigeria will be a safer and more secured nation under President Muhammadu Buhari.
This is according to Professor Ibrahim Gambari, Chief of Staff to the President.
He said this in his address on Sunday during the 20th convocation lecture for the Regular Course 69 Graduating Cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna.
Gambari reaffirmed the commitment of his principal to combating the threat of banditry, terrorism, and other violent crimes wreaking havoc throughout the nation.
He claimed that the President continually provides the most advanced and required equipment for the nation’s armed forces so that they can successfully carry out their constitutional obligations.
He said, “It is on record that he has provided the military with sophisticated equipment with which to perform their duty.
“By the end of his tenure around May next year, Nigeria will (be) a safer, more secured country than when he assumed office as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic.
“As we continue to de-escalate the security challenges that confronted us at the inception of this administration, newer forms alien to our country began to manifest especially in the areas of kidnappings, molestations/killings of innocent citizens, banditry, all of which are being addressed by our security forces.
“I share the pains Nigerians are going through and I assure you that your resilience and patience would not be in vain as this administration continues to reposition as well as strengthen the security agencies to enable them to deal with all forms of security challenges.”
