Bayelsa State Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has eulogised former Governor Seriake Dickson at 56.
He described him as a great patriot and leader.
He said Dickson, the Senator, representing Bayelsa West in the National Assembly, is one politician who believed in equity, fairness and justice.
In a message issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mr Doubara Atasi, on Friday, Ewhrudjakpo expressed gratitude to God for blessing the former governor with good health and grace to serve his people and the nation with utmost dedication and patriotism.
He said: “The Bayelsa West Senator is a great patriot and leader, who believes in equity, fairness and justice.
“Dickson’s robust contributions at the floor of the Senate speak volumes of his love for the Niger Delta and the country at large.
“Dickson means so much to the government and people of Bayelsa in terms of the indelible leadership landmarks in infrastructural development, which today stand out as a reference point in the history of the state.
“The antecedents of Dickson’s government provided a solid ground for the present administration to build upon all sectors of the state, including human capital development.
“We pray to God to endue Dickson with more wisdom, courage and passion to promote the common good.
“His riveting antecedents provided a solid ground for us, your leadership offspring, to build our own stewardship, which puts the people at the centrepiece of governance.
“We are therefore very proud to identify with you and your enduring contributions to the uplift of Bayelsa State in your groundbreaking eight years epoch as Governor and now as distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
