Late Monday night, terror returned to Garin Idi the ancestral village of Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Dr. Idris Muhammad Gobir as armed men believed to be bandits stormed the area in Sabon Birni Local Government.
The man reportedly behind the raid: Kallamu Buzu, a name tied to a long string of violent incursions across the northwest.
Security analyst Bakatsine shared the news in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating:

“Moment ago, notorious bandits kingpin Kallamu Buzu attacked Garin Idi community in Sabon Birni LGA, Sokoto State. The ancestral home of Sokoto Deputy Governor Dr. Idris Muhammad Gobir.
Several residents were abducted during the raid.”
The exact number of those taken remains unclear.
By Tuesday morning, no official statement had come from the Sokoto State Police Command or any arm of the state government.
