Bandits, on Sunday, set free 28 of the 121 abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, Kaduna State.
The bandits released the students after 20 days in captivity.
Kaduna State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Revd Joseph Hayab, confirmed the abducted students’ release.
On July 5, 2021, bandits abducted 121 students from their hostels.
Security operatives had on July 12 rescued one of the abducted students, Abraham Aniya, and two other victims earlier kidnapped by bandits along Kaduna-Kachia road.
Also, on July 20, two other students escaped when they were sent to a nearby forest to fetch firewood.
Police had confirmed that the two students were sighted around the Rijanna area along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Israel Akanji, had said no ransom will be paid for the release of the students.
