Bandits have killed no fewer than 35 people in a fresh attack launched against residents of Yelwa Zangam community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
First News learnt that the community was attacked at the early hours of Wednesday after the bandits disabled the bridge leading to the community to prevent helpers coming to rescue the victims.
A source hinted that the victims were burnt alive by the attackers.
The attack is coming barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari pledged support for victims of violent clashes in Plateau State.
The Plateau State Police Command, Ubah Ogaba confirmed the incident but said he not received full details of what happened.
His words: ”there was an incident at Yelwa but I have not received full details yet.”
