Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, led a protest to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja.
PDP leaders, including the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu; Director General of the PDP Campaign, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, other party leaders and their supporters stormed the INEC headquarters wearing black clothes in protest against the just concluded presidential election won by the All Progressives Congress flagbearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The PDP leaders were joined by some members of the National Working Committee and Board of Trustee of the party.
The protesters wearing black attires and riding in two open vans, started the protest from Legacy House in Maitama, the presidential campaign office of the PDP.
They are expected to move together to the INEC office where the party leaders will make their grievances known to the leadership of the commission.
The PDP is protesting the conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections and Tinubu’s declaration as winner of the presidential poll.
PDP had demanded the cancellation of the elections and the conduct of a fresh one following what they said were irregularities during the exercise.
