No fewer than 700 persons from the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State have defected to the Labour Party.
The defectors of the NNPP were led by five ward chairmen in the local government as they were received by the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Umar Madawaki, party chairman, Nicholas Christopher and other party executives on Saturday in Yola.
Madawaki said the defectors had taken the right decision in view of the rising profile of the Labour Party in the state while predicting the ousting of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
He said: “History is about to be made in Adamawa and the nation because the Labour Party is a movement which is set to oust the ruling All Progressives Congress at the national level and the Peoples Democratic Party at the state level and take over the reins of power for the benefit of all.”
