A delegation of the ruling All Progressives Congress on Tuesday visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.
The governors and Buhari met briefly behind closed doors. Nothing is known about the meeting as the governors declined to respond to questions from journalists after the meeting.
Meanwhile, speculations are that the meeting may not be unconnected with plans on how to ensure the party delivers its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the coming 2023 electon as Buhari’s successor.
Those at the meeting include the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Dr Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa.
Others are Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Abubakar Bello of Niger, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa and Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Dr Eric Igwe.
