…set to attend Thursday’s virtual NEC meeting
President Muhammadu Buhari has thrown his weight behind former deputy national secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Victor Giadom, as the acting National Chairman of the ruling party.
The President is, therefore, set to attend the APC virtual National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday.
President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday.
The presidential spokesman stated that Buhari had received convincing advice on the position of the law regarding the current situation in the APC.
Shehu added that the President had determined that the law was on the side of Giadom as the APC acting National Chairman.
The President’s statement read, “Because he will always act in accordance with the law, the President will be attending the virtual meeting Giadom called for tomorrow afternoon.
“In addition to the President, the Giadom meeting will, hopefully, be attended by our Governors and the leaders of the National Assembly.”
