Amid Hardship, Lasisi Tells Ex-President Buhari: ‘I Really Miss You’

Nigerian comedian Lasisi Elenu has ignited discussions across social media after sharing his longing for former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In light of the country’s current challenges, Lasisi humorously admitted to missing Buhari’s leadership.

Renowned for his witty commentary on societal issues, Lasisi’s remarks struck a chord with his audience, evoking a mix of laughter and reflection.

On the 16th of October, 2024, Lasisi, whose real name is Nosa Afolabi, posted an Instagram voice note he privately sent to Buhari.

In the emotional recording, the comedian appeared on the verge of tears as he expressed how much he missed the ex-President.

“I’m not sending you this message on behalf of anyone. I think I owe it to myself and my family. I never thought I would be here doing this at this time. First, I don’t even know how to say this. I miss you. God help me na die I dey,” he said in a voice note.

Since Buhari’s departure from office in May 2023, many Nigerians feel the country’s economy has worsened.

The comedian’s post sparked diverse reactions online, with some fans supporting his view, saying Buhari’s leadership brought a certain level of stability, while others highlighted the difficulties experienced under his administration.
