Ajibade’s Brace Secures Nigeria’s 2-0 Victory Over Algeria

The Super Falcons of Nigeria took a commanding step with a 2-0 victory over Algeria in the first leg of their friendly game, thanks to a stunning first-half brace from captain Rasheedat Ajibade.

Played in front of an enthusiastic crowd, Ajibade’s skill and precision left no room for doubt as Nigeria cruised past their North African rivals.

Ajibade opened the scoring early, using her trademark agility to break through Algeria’s defense and slot the ball past the keeper. Her second goal, a clinical finish minutes later, was a testament to her experience and leadership on the field. With her relentless pace and attacking prowess, Ajibade led the Super Falcons, who remained resilient in defense and held on to their two-goal lead through the second half.

The Algerians pushed back but found it difficult to penetrate Nigeria’s solid defense, as the Super Falcons shut down every offensive effort.

The teams will meet again in the return leg at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Tuesday.
