Aiyedatiwa Approves N96bn Supplementary Budget

In a decisive move to address Ondo State’s growing financial responsibilities, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has signed the 2024 supplementary budget into law.

This new budget, valued at N96.8 billion and passed by the State House of Assembly, pushes the total state budget for 2024 to an ambitious N492.05 billion.

Governor Aiyedatiwa underscored the urgency of this supplementary budget, which covers the recently approved N73,000 minimum wage for state workers and the salaries of newly hired personnel across various sectors.

The budget balances a recurrent expenditure of N246.7 billion with capital projects set at N245.3 billion, reflecting the administration’s commitment to both the welfare of its workforce and the advancement of Ondo’s 18 local government areas.

During the signing at the Executive Council Chambers, Aiyedatiwa also enacted a bill to expand the board of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC).

This expansion, he stated, will enhance inclusivity and ensure that all mandated regions receive equitable representation, strengthening the support for local communities.
