Ahmed Musa, Ali Rescue Pillars in Thrilling draw against Heartland

In an electrifying NPFL encounter on Sunday, Kano Pillars’ talismanic duo Ahmed Musa and Rabiu Ali ensured their over 20,000 fans left the stadium with smiles despite a tough challenge from an in-form Heartland FC.

Both legends found the back of the net in a dramatic 2-2 draw at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

The game started at a cautious pace, with both sides failing to convert chances in a goalless first half. However, the second half delivered fireworks.

Heartland’s Suraju Lawal broke the deadlock in the 51st minute, sending the Owerri-based team’s traveling supporters into a frenzy.

But Heartland reclaimed the lead just two minutes later when Suraju Lawal struck again, making it 2-1 and leaving Pillars’ fans anxious.

With the match seemingly slipping away, Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa proved why he remains a game-changer.

In the 72nd minute, Musa showcased his composure and skill, slotting in the crucial equalizer to restore parity. Despite relentless efforts from both sides in the remaining minutes, the match ended in a thrilling stalemate.
