Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and state governors of the party are currently holding a crucial meeting in Abuja.
Atiku’s meeting with the governors kicked off a few minutes after the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, won the presidential ticket to fly the flag of the ruling party in next year’s general elections.
It was learnt that the major agenda of the meeting may not be unconnected with the need to restrategise for next year’s general elections following Tinubu’s emergence as the ruling APC’s presidential candidate.
Also, the choice of the running mate to Atiku is expected to be discussed at the meeting.
PDP governors at the ongoing meeting include Bayelsa Governor, Douye Diri, Governor Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Governor Nyesom Wike (Rivers), and Samuel Ortom (Benue).
Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal and Oyo State’s Governor Seyi Makinde are also attending the meeting.
