Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed on Thursday, June 2, that Russian troops now control about 20 per cent of Ukraine territory.
The territory under the control of the invaders include the annexed Crimean peninsula and territory in the east held by Moscow-backed separatists since 2014.
“Today, about 20 percent of our territory is under the control of the occupiers,” Zelensky said during an address to lawmakers in Luxembourg.
Russian forces have continued to solidify their hold on the eastern Donbas region and maintaining their push towards Ukraine’s de facto administrative centre there.
