Abductors of the Bishop of Jebba Anglican Diocese, Kwara State, Rev Aderogba Adeyinka, on Tuesday set him free.
Also released along with the Bishop were his wife, and his driver.
Recall that the victims were abducted on Sunday after their vehicle suffered a mechanical fault while they were traveling from Yewa in Ogun State to Jebba, Kwara State, en route an isolated area along New Oyo/Ogbomoso Expressway.
On Monday, their abductors demanded a N50million ransom from the church but we could not ascertain if it was eventually paid.
Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed on Tuesday that they were released unhurt.
The PPRO said the State Police Command deployed its operatives to rescue the victims.
“Massive deployment of Police personnel for the operation to rescue the victims and the domination of the entire area by the Police Tactical teams pressurised the abductors in freeing the victims,” he said.
