45th Kano Trade Fair: Minister Badaru Calls for Military Support to Secure Peace

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has called on Nigerians to rally behind the military in its fight against insecurity, emphasizing that “peace is a cornerstone of national development.”

Speaking at the opening of the 45th International Trade Fair organized by the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KACCIMA), Badaru stressed that improved security is essential for unlocking Nigeria’s economic potential.

“An improving security situation will pave the way for enhanced economic prosperity,” the Minister said, reaffirming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to restoring peace and stability in Nigeria.

Badaru urged Nigerians to support the government with prayers and maintain confidence in the security forces, whose “unwavering dedication is crucial to sustaining the gains in our fight against insecurity.”

As a former National President and Lifetime Vice President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Badaru’s presence underscored his strong ties to the business community and commitment to fostering economic growth.

Commending KACCIMA for its dedication to organizing the trade fair, Badaru said, “This initiative is essential for strengthening our economy and achieving our diversification goals. Non-oil exports hold the key to Nigeria’s sustainable economic growth.”

The trade fair, which brought together dignitaries including representatives from the Office of the Vice President, the Kano State Governor, and business leaders from around the world, serves as a vital platform for promoting economic collaboration and investment.

Badaru highlighted Kano’s central role in trade and industry, describing the city as “a hub for commerce and innovation.”

He urged stakeholders to work together to harness Nigeria’s vast export potential and build a resilient economy driven by peace and stability.

His remarks underscored the synergy between security and economic growth, leaving attendees with a strong message: “Our journey to economic prosperity begins with securing our nation.”
