Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, has warned that anyone who wants to prevent him from attaining his political goals should first become Nigeria’s president.
The former vice president added that he was unconcerned about plans by the G-5 governors, a group of five disgruntled governors, to support particular presidential contenders.
He claimed that he is an old elephant who has seen everything and that the angry governors cannot surprise him.
Phrank Shaibu, Atiku’s Special Assistant for Public Communication, delivered the following statement on his behalf, saying that anyone boasting of having such powers to stop my presidential campaign should first become president.
He said, “Atiku will be president. Whether the cock crows or not, the sun must rise. Power belongs to God Almighty; no man can arrogate to himself the powers of God Almighty. Any man who can boast of stopping Atiku should first make himself president of Nigeria.
“Atiku is an elephant. Even when an elephant walks on thorns, it does not limp. And when you have seen a snake, it cannot bite you anymore. In this case, we have seen the snake, how can we be taken by surprise?”
