Cameroon and Senegal have qualified for the inter-confederation playoffs that will see them battle with teams from each of the FIFA football confederation for a ticket to the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Senegal beat Tunisia 4-2 on penalties to seal one of the two spots for Africa in the inter-confederation playoffs.
The second spot was taken by Cameroon who put a goal past Botswana at the first half additional time to renew their hope for a World Cup qualification.
Other teams who have qualified for the playoffs include Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Haiti and Panama.
The play-off tournament will feature ten teams split into three groups, with the winner of each group qualifying for the Women’s World Cup.
It will take place from 18 to 23 February, 2023 in New Zealand and will be used as a test for the upcoming World Cup.
