…says ‘Nigeria is irredeemable, we want her disintegration’
Indigenous People of Biafra says it’s neither interested in the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, winning next year’s presidential election nor Igbo presidency in 2023.
IPOB said the South-East producing a Nigerian President of South-East extraction had no any form of attraction for the separatist group.
IPOB said its members are not part of Obi’s supporters because their real interest is in Nigeria’s disintegration.
IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, said Nigeria had become irredeemable.
Powerful said in a statement, “The Igbo people rallying behind Peter Obi are not IPOB members because IPOB’s goal is the disintegration of the Nigerian enterprise irrespective of whether Peter Obi or anyone else from the Biafran geographic space is contesting in the Nigerian farce of an election.
“IPOB is a freedom fighting movement and has nothing whatsoever to do with or in Nigerian politics. So long as we in IPOB are concerned, Nigeria is irredeemable.”
The separatist group restated its demand for the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and a referendum in the South-East.
