In the general election of 2023, the New Nigeria Political Party presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso has urged Nigerians to reject, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (PDP), and Peter Obi of the Labour party.
The APC, PDP, and Labour Party flagbearers must be rejected, according to Kwankwaso, since “they have nothing to offer the nation under the new government.”
In a discussion with journalists in Minna, Niger State, Kwankwaso stated that the candidates cannot demonstrate their contributions to the nation in a way that would allow them to be chosen as president. He added that if the candidates have evidence to the contrary, they should make it known to the world.
The NNPP presidential candidate said that throughout his eight years as governor of Kano State, he took no loans and sponsored over 3,500 locals to pursue higher education overseas.
He said that throughout his tenure as defense minister, the nation was at peace while he oversaw an army that was unparalleled.
“Infrastructure deterioration throughout the country is second to none in the lengthy history of Nigeria,” Kwankwaso said in reference to the 23 years of economic stagnation under both the APC and PDP administrations.
Therefore, the NNPP presidential candidate urged Nigerians to choose a president with the ability rather than someone who feels like it’s their time or who wants to sell off national assets.
Kwankwaso promised to stop insecurity across the country “in a short period of time,” if elected into office in 2023, adding that his administration will work with the international community as part of steps to restore normalcy.
“I will ensure judicious use of resources allocated to the security agencies, and also carry out their training and retraining,” he added.
On why he left the PDP, Kwankwaso said: “The PDP was not formed on any ideology, it (PDP) was formed to lock out the military, as we were strange bedfellows.”
