Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has been tipped to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Already, Nigerians are in suspense regarding the successor to President Buhari at the end of his tenure in 2023.
Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, loyalists of the Kogi State governor have been encouraging him as the man that will take over the reins of governance from President Buhari.
Towards this end, Chief Whip of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Muktar Bajeh, who is believed to be among the leading loyalists of Bello, has begun to canvass Nigerians for him.
According to him, Bello being a youth with love of the nation at heart, will take Nigeria to the promise land.
Bajeh, who stated this on Tuesday while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja, further said Governor Bello has the requisite qualifications and experience to become the president or vice president of Nigeria.
He added that the North Central has, since the return to democracy, never occupied the coveted position despite its contribution to nation building.
Bajeh said, “I am calling on the leadership of the All Progressive Congress to, in the spirit of equity, justice and togetherness, give priority to the North Central come 2023, and Governor Yahaya Bello should be given the chance to use his wealth of experience to take the country to a greater height.
“Governor Bello has done well in the governance of Kogi State, especially in the areas of security, education , infrastructure , health , civil service reforms, among others too many to mention.
“The governor also ensures that APC has its tap roots across the 21 local government areas of the state, which he demonstrated in the state assembly today, where all the seats are occupied by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the three senators representing the state at the National Assembly are all members of the ruling party, APC.”
