A former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has implored President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of All Progressives Congress not to betray the South in the coming primary election of the party.
He said the party should honour the agreement between the North and the South concerning the rotation of presidential positions.
Sani reacted to the outcome of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and governors of the APC.
He spoke on Twitter, saying Buhari and APC governors should respect their gentleman agreement and allow a southern candidate to emerge as the party’s candidate.
He wrote: “The president and the ruling party governors should honour their ‘gentleman agreement’ and allow for a southern candidate to emerge.”
Recall that Buhari had requested APC governors to allow him pick the party’s presidential candidate.
