… says South-East deserves Nigeria’s presidency
Leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, has backed the 2023 presidential bid of the flagbearer of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
According to Adebanjo, the South-East should be trusted with holding the rein of power at the centre.
The Afenifere leader added that the South-East geopolitical zone deserved to lead the country.
Adebanjo, who spoke on an online radio programme, Yoruba Gbode, said the LP presidential candidate has the ability to rule independently.
The Afenifere leader also said he had lost confidence in the All Progressives Congress’ flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
Adebanjo said, “It is only Peter Obi that can rule independently without the influence of these criminals in government. Tinubu will only give continuity to Buhari’s incompetence.
“We know Peter Obi very well; that’s why we endorsed him. He will not disappoint Nigerians, let’s put tribal differences apart and vote the right leader in.
“Tinubu sold Buhari to over 200 million Nigerians for his own selfish interest of wanting to rule after Buhari. None of them loves Nigeria.
“Easterners are also Nigerians, they deserve to rule.”
