As the preparations for the 2023 general elections intensify, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Muktar Aliyu Betara is set to be re-elected unopposed.
Rep. Betara represents Biu/Bayo/Shani Federal Constituency of Borno State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A former hovernor of the state, Alhaji Adamu Shettima Dibal led the delegation of his constituency to pick the N110 million worth expression of interest and nomination forms on his behalf in Abuja, assuring that Betara would not face any hurdle at the polls.
According to the former Governor, “We want him back because of his history, because of his antecedents. He has done alot for our people. We all contributed money to raise the N10 million to buy the form. He is not even aware that we bought the form for him.
“We will present the form to him at our own local government. Our people want him back. He has done a lot in human capital development, road development and several infrastructure back home.
“His support is massive. In fact if the election is held tomorrow, he would sweep the poll. As we speak he has no opposition right now. There is nobody taking the seat from him.”
In his brief remarks, the lawmaker expressed his profound gratitude to the delegation and assured them that he would continue to give them good representation at the green chamber.
He urged them to go all out to rally support for the APC for it to continue its transformation of the country in all facets.
