Whitecoud TVET Champions Women in Skills Development on International Women’s Day

Whitecoud TVET Solutions Limited, a trailblazer in technical and vocational education and training (TVET), marked International Women’s Day with a strong call for gender equality in skills development.

Under this year’s theme, “Equality in Skills Development,” the organization reaffirmed its commitment to breaking barriers and empowering women through vocational training.

Speaking at the event, Whitecoud TVET President Netufo Ranti Jasper and Executive Director Grace Netufo Ojoromiwa celebrated the remarkable achievements of Miss Oghenetega Dameitie Unokogbon, a trainee who recently demonstrated exceptional welding proficiency—an area traditionally dominated by men.

“Seeing young women like Miss Unokogbon excel in welding and other technical fields is proof that gender should never be a limitation in skills acquisition,” Jasper stated.

Ojoromiwa echoed this sentiment, urging governments, institutions, and individuals to invest in accessible training opportunities for women and girls.

“We must dismantle the societal and systemic barriers preventing women from pursuing technical skills. Equal access to training is essential for economic growth and sustainable development,” she emphasized.
