A devastating incident occurred on Wednesday on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway when a speeding cement truck, with faulty brakes, collided with four cars.
The tragic accident resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left six others injured.
Confirming the incident to newsmen, TRACE South-West Area Commander, Adekunle Ajibade said the truck which had no registration number was heading toward the tollgate from Sango-Ota at high speed when its brakes failed.
He explained that the vehicle reportedly lost control and ploughed into four other vehicles in its path.

Ajibade said, “The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at Ifo General Hospital in OgAjibadeun State, where the injured are also receiving treatment”
He urged drivers to check that their vehicles are in good condition before hitting the road and cautioned them to avoid speeding and reckless driving to prevent unnecessary tragedies.
Ajibade added that the vehicles involved in the accident had been cleared from the expressway to restore normal traffic flow in the area.
