Third Attack on Senator Natasha’s Home Sparks Security Outrage in Kogi

Fresh fears are mounting over the safety of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan after yet another attack on her country home in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The latest incident happened late Tuesday, the 17th of June, 2025, and follows a similar attack on the 15th of April.

This time, the assailants stormed the property under the cover of darkness, smashing windows before meeting stiff resistance.

A combined team of local police, vigilantes, and residents quickly responded, forcing the attackers to flee.

One suspect, Suberu Jose, was caught. He is well known in the community and reportedly confessed this was his third time targeting the senator’s home.

Security agents recovered a machete and several charms from him. Before his arrest, an angry crowd attempted mob action, but officers stepped in and took him into custody.

Several others, armed and unidentified, escaped and remain at large.

This repeated targeting of Senator Natasha’s residence has triggered concerns about gaps in security around elected officials in the state.

Her Chief Press Secretary, Isreal Arogbonlo, called for calm, urging the public to “remain steadfast in the pursuit of justice.”

He added, “Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s commitment to truth and her tireless representation of her constituents should not be met with violence or intimidation.”

The motive behind the recurring attacks remains unclear, but many in the community are now questioning how someone could repeatedly strike the same target with little consequence until now.
