They Can’t Try It Abroad – Tacha Calls Out Nigerian Pastors

UK-based reality star Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has called out Nigerian Christian leaders, slamming their unchecked conduct and calling attention to what she described as a pattern of manipulation and double standards.

Tacha didn’t mince words: “90 per cent of our Nigerian Pastors will not get away with what they do in Nigeria outside Nigeria.”

This came after a controversial video of House on the Rock’s Senior Pastor, Paul Adefarasin, holding what appeared to be a firearm and confronting a car spotter went viral. Public outrage followed. Adefarasin later denied the object was a gun and claimed the car spotter was “aggressive.”

But Tacha disagreed. She said: “Everybody saw the video. We all saw the video. And from the video, we can tell who the aggressor was.”

In a post shared on her X handle, she tore into what she called “gaslighting” tactics from the pulpit. She reminded viewers: “This pastor stopped his car, wined down, held an object that looks like a firearm and told this boy, ‘Don’t do that, don’t do that…’”

According to her, the boy wasn’t threatening or hostile. In fact, she says he was hailing the pastor. She found it absurd that such harmless behaviour could be framed as aggression.

Her frustration didn’t stop there: “Nothing pain me pass the gullible congregation that was clapping and cheering. Because what are you clapping and cheering for? Didn’t you watch the video or you have selective blindness?”

Tacha also drew comparisons. She questioned how people would react if political figures like Seyi Tinubu or Nyesom Wike had behaved the same way: “One part of Twitter would be burning by now and it will burn for one week. But because he is ua pastor, some persons are making excuses for him.”

She reminded viewers of another controversial moment involving the same pastor: “This is the same pastor who allegedly stepped out of his car last year to smash the windscreen of a bus that hit his car putting the passengers at risk.”

She wrapped her reaction with a direct message:
“This selective hypocrisy is so crazy. Let’s stop being hypocrites.”

Tacha’s outburst struck a chord online, igniting fresh debates around religion, accountability, and public double standards.
