Tensions Mount Ahead of May 30 as Abia Police Secure Govt Infrastructure

In a bid to tighten security ahead of the 30th of May, 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has issued a clear directive.

Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical Team Commanders of all formations in his Command to remain alert by protecting their bases and government infrastructure.

This move follows the sit-at-home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

CP Isa gave this instruction during a high-level security meeting held in his office with top officers under his command. During the briefing, he emphasized strict compliance with the Operation Order and urged senior officers to monitor their teams closely.

According to a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Maureen Chinaka: All units, especially officers at strategic points, have been mandated to remain alert and proactive.

She also confirmed that:
Response teams are to be on standby and prepare to respond swiftly to emergencies.

CP Isa has further instructed:
Area Commanders to continue Operation “Show of Force” in collaboration with sister security agencies across Abia State.

The Commissioner reassured residents of Abia of their safety and the readiness of the police to maintain peace.

He encouraged the public to remain security-conscious and to support the police by promptly reporting suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or contact the command’s emergency numbers.
