Shock in Port Harcourt as Woman Bites Off Lover’s Manhood During Dispute

A shocking case of domestic violence unfolded in the Mile 3 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt, on Thursday, when a 43-year-old woman identified as Gift allegedly bit off the tip of her partner’s penis during a heated altercation.

The incident, which occurred on Bishop Okoye Street, left residents stunned and sparked a wave of confusion and disbelief across the densely populated neighbourhood.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the confrontation began when the woman’s lover, identified simply as Sunday, requested intimacy.

Gift, however, reportedly rejected the advance, accusing him of relying on performance-enhancing drugs that led to prolonged and uncomfortable sexual encounters.

Tempers quickly flared. A neighbour who witnessed the aftermath but requested anonymity said the argument spiraled into physical violence.

“He reportedly tried to force himself on her after she refused, and in the struggle, she bit his manhood — the cap was completely severed,” the source recounted.

Sunday’s agonising screams pierced the calm evening air, drawing neighbours to the scene.

Chaos erupted as some bystanders, outraged by the act, attempted to attack the woman. Swift intervention by officers from the Nkpolu Police Division prevented further violence.

Led by the Divisional Police Officer, the police rescued Gift and took her into custody.

Meanwhile, the victim was rushed to a medical facility within Port Harcourt, where he is reportedly receiving emergency treatment.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the suspect is currently being held as investigations continue. “Yes, I can confirm the incident. The woman, aged 43, has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing,” she told reporters on Friday.

The gruesome nature of the case has stirred conversation across social circles in Port Harcourt, raising questions about domestic boundaries, sexual consent, and the escalation of intimate partner disputes.
