Second term: Obaseki vows to contest on APC platform

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Tuesday, vowed to realise his second term ambition on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.

Obaseki insisted that he would fly the flag of the APC in the September governorship election in Edo.

The embattled governor stated this while addressing members of the Obaseki Mandate Group in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He disclosed that many of his supporters had offered to pay for his expression of interest and nomination forms on the platform of any party he preferred, but that he decided to stick to the APC platform upon which he won election as the governor to serve the Edo people.

Obaseki stated that he felt humbled by the kind gesture of the people of the state, who put money together to pay for his forms.

The governor said he was in the game to make a change to the narrative that politics is a dirty game.

He called on the people of the state to ensure that only those with track records of public service were given the opportunity to lead.
