Rema’s ‘Rave & Roses Ultra’ Hits 3 Billion on YouTube Music

Nigerian singer Divine Ikubor, fondly called Rema, has made history on YouTube Music. His debut album’s ultra edition, ‘Rave & Roses Ultra’, has become the first African album to reach 3 billion streams on the platform.

A recent check confirmed that ‘Rave & Roses’ surpassed this milestone, setting a new record for African music on YouTube Music. The hit track ‘Calm Down’ and its remix featuring American star Selena Gomez contributed most to the streaming numbers.

In addition to YouTube Music, ‘Rave & Roses Ultra’ is also the most streamed African album on Spotify, with 3.9 billion streams.

It stands as the first African album to join the 2 billion streams club and remains the only Nigerian project to cross that mark on Spotify.

Rema’s success signals a growing global appetite for African music and raises the question, how far can this wave of African artists reach on international platforms?
